ONLINE TOUR OF 2257
Here you can take an online tour of the district's newest ambulance, 2257. Click on the photos for a larger view.
The passenger side of the patient compartment box now features a sliding tinted window. From the inside, panels can be slid to close off the view for privacy. The panels are also made of a dry-erase surface, allowing crews to write notes if needed.
The suction tubing and bucket has been moved to be stored under the surface and within the wall, allowing amble space for crews to organize paperwork, medical kits, writing surface, etc. Oxygen flow lines also have an electronic on/off switch, located on a control panel.
A built in IV warmer is used in one of the cabinets, which allows fluids to remain a warm temperature at all times. By keeping the fluids warm, the patient is provided with a more comfortable tolerance to the fluids entering the body, which is naturally warmer than room air.
One of the crew seats in the patient compartment box folds down into a built in car-seat for children.
2257 features two cameras that can be viewed on a screen located in the front cab. One is a rear facing camera to assist the driver when driving backwards. The other is located in the patient compartment. This allows the driver to monitor and become aware of a violent patient during transport. These cameras are not able to be recorded in any way.
Osage Ambulances built a customized center console for the front cab. This console features an arm rest, glove storage area, cup holders, map book storage, and more. The console also features controls for the dual-siren, air horns, howler siren, and on-spot drop chains.
2257 also features a full size PowerArc emergency light bar. This state of the art technology uses LED warning lights that have an effective way to catch the attention of motorists, pedestrians, etc.
Exterior scene lights have been vastly upgraded by using LED lighting technology. Previous light sources used halogen light bulbs, where LEDs provide a brighter, longer lasting light source.
LED ground lights are built in, to assist crews in seeing where to step at night. Also notice the EKG rythym design inside the stripe that runs along the sides.
