Under the general supervision of the shift leader(s) and under the direct supervision of the district manager, the EMT-P is responsible for the following:
Providing Advanced Life Support care for patients within the policies and protocols of St. James Ambulance District and within the scope of their licensure, regardless of whether transport is routine or emergency in nature.
Accurate and complete documentation of ALL patient contacts. Procuring patient information necessary for billing and administration.
Safeguarding patient confidentiality in accordance to all applicable laws.
Inspecting Ambulances at the beginning of each shift to ensure safe operating condition and the presence of appropriate supplies.
Completion of daily chores such as washing ambulances, cleaning areas of the base, and any other chores that may be assigned by management.
Intrafacility patient transfers as assigned by management.
Any other duties as assigned by member(s) of management.
Requirements:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of approved EMT-Paramedic course
Experience: One year as an EMT-P is preferred but not required
Licensure: Must posses a current Missouri EMT-P license. Must Posses a Valid Missouri drivers license
Certification: ACLS and BLS certifications required, ACLS, BTLS, and PALS certification(s) preferred
Mental:
Ability to concentrate and perform duties under difficult and sometimes extreme circumstances
Physical:
Should be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds
Should be able to stand, sit, twist, turn, carry, push, pull, crouch, bend, and reach without difficulty
Working Conditions:
Working in the medical field you may experience frequent exposure to communicable disease via blood, body fluids, needles and bio-hazard materials. You may also be exposed to radiation, anti-neoplastic agents and hostile persons.
