St. James Ambulance was founded in 1975 and through the years has grown, in both size and quality.
During the early years of pre-hospital care "ambulances" were run out of funeral homes with little to no
patient care being administered.
Over the years we have grown from having one ambulance and a limited number of EMT's, mostly
volunteers, to a fleet of four Ambulances staffed by two EMT's and two Paramedics at all times.
St. James Ambulance offers Emergency Medical Services to the residence of eastern Phelps County,
southern Maries County, Southern Gasconade County, and Northern Dent County. This includes the city
of St. James, eleven miles of Interstate 44, Rosati, Little Prairie Lake, and Meramac Springs Park.
St. James Ambulance has been providing top level medical care for over two decades. We pride
ourselves on dependable and reliable Emergency Medical care and provide our patients with the best
possible care. All of our employees carry the same standard of high quality service of care in which we
